Murree rainfall<\/strong> remained the highest in Punjab as widespread rain continued across the province over the past 24 hours, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority<\/span><\/span> on Saturday.<\/p>\n

PDMA spokesperson said Murree recorded 48mm of rain, the highest during this spell. Rainfall was reported in several districts due to changing weather conditions.<\/p>\n

In southern Punjab, Fort Munro in Dera Ghazi Khan received 40mm of rain, while Vehova recorded 11mm. In Rawalpindi, Shamsabad saw 40mm rainfall, Chaklala 35mm, and Kattarian 31mm.<\/p>\n

Other cities also experienced moderate rainfall. Attock recorded 35mm, Faisalabad 33mm, and Sargodha 25mm. Gujrat received 24mm, while Mangla and Joharabad recorded 22mm each. Chakwal reported 21mm of rain.<\/p>\n

In Lahore, light rain was recorded, with 8mm at the airport area and 3mm in other parts of the city.<\/p>\n

Rainfall activity was also observed in southern districts, including Multan, Bahawalpur, and Layyah, with both light and moderate showers reported.<\/p>\n

The Director General of the PDMA<\/a> directed all concerned departments to stay alert. Citizens have been advised to remain cautious during thunderstorms and avoid unsafe areas during lightning.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department<\/span><\/span> issued an early warning for Karachi, indicating a change in weather conditions in the coming days.<\/p>\n

The department said a westerly wave is likely to enter Balochistan from April 5. So the Rainfall is expected in Karachi and several districts of Sindh on April 6.<\/p>\n

Areas including Sukkur, Kashmore, and Ghotki may experience wind-thunderstorms with moderate to heavy rain and possible hailstorms.<\/p>\n

Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is also expected in Jamshoro, Dadu, Kambar Shahdadkot, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Matiari, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal, and Karachi Division.<\/p>\n

The weather department warned that strong winds, lightning, and hail could damage weak structures.<\/p>\n

A day earlier, a tornadic waterspout was seen over the sea near Karachi during the rain. Experts say it is a spinning column of air over water that forms a funnel connecting the clouds to the sea.<\/p>\n
