{"id":106644,"date":"2026-04-06T15:35:53","date_gmt":"2026-04-06T10:35:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=106644"},"modified":"2026-04-06T15:35:53","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T10:35:53","slug":"govt-plans-monthly-petrol-quota-with-digital-monitoring-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/govt-plans-monthly-petrol-quota-with-digital-monitoring-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt plans monthly petrol quota with digital monitoring system"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/registration-starts-for-kp-govt-fuel-subsidy\/\">federal government<\/a> has decided to set a specific monthly quota of petrol for citizens\u2019 personal vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>According to a private TV, Pakistan is facing an energy crisis like the rest of the world after the Iran-Iraq war and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the government is taking several steps to deal with it.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, while deciding to set a specific monthly quota of petrol for citizens\u2019 personal vehicles, the federal government has decided to implement a digital fuel management system at petrol pumps. Under this decision, no citizen will be allowed to take petrol more than the fixed quota.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, preparations have been completed for the provision of mobile phones at the pumps to implement the petrol quota system. While the National IT Board and the IT Ministry have completed the testing of mobile phones and applications.<\/p>\n<p>Approved modern mobile handsets worth Rs 36,000 will be provided to petrol pumps. Oil marketing companies will provide money for the purchase of mobile phones.<\/p>\n<p>The NIT Board will purchase mobile phones and provide them to the relevant companies and fuel stations through <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/news\/punjab-saudi-arabia-jobs-interviews-announced-for-youth-under-hunarmand-naujawan-program\/\">OGRA<\/a>. Digital monitoring will be done through the app developed by the Pakistan Digital Authority.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, OGRA has been ordered to give instructions to oil companies to purchase mobile phones. While the details of this project have also been sent to the Cabinet Division for final approval by the Ministry of IT.<\/p>\n<p>NITB has verified the quality and operational performance of mobile devices.
