KARACHI: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA<\/a>) has suspended its Beijing and Kuala Lumpur operations from April 11.<\/p>\n

Gulf countries’ operations will also be suspended until the end of April. UAE flights have been limited to 16 weekly flights.<\/p>\n

According to media reports, a high-level meeting was held at PIA in which a plan was drawn up to address the rising prices and potential losses in the organization.<\/p>\n

In the meeting, PIA decided in principle to end all discounts; only children and newborns will receive discounts.<\/p>\n

According to the spokesperson, PIA is also suspending its Beijing and Kuala Lumpur operations from April 11 and 14, respectively.<\/p>\n

Gulf countries (except the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia) are also being suspended until the end of April, while the UAE air operations are being limited to 16 weekly flights.<\/p>\n

According to a PIA spokesperson, the PIA administration has decided in the context of the fourth increase in expensive jet fuel.<\/p>\n

The entire burden of fuel prices cannot be placed on passengers, so some strict administrative decisions were taken. It is hoped that prices at the international level will soon return to normal levels, after which all affected routes will be restored.<\/p>\n

Due to the expensive jet fuel,\u00a0PIA<\/a> has taken an important decision, and the administration has decided to end the discounts given to people from different sectors.<\/p>\n

According to a private TV, PIA has decided to end the discounts given to students, senior citizens, journalists, retired military persons, ASF personnel, and the PIA administration has instructed the staff at all airports regarding this decision.<\/p>\n

Confirming this, the PIA spokesperson said that PIA has withdrawn all types of discounts, and this decision has been taken until the fuel prices return to normal.<\/p>\n
