The government plans to provide relief of up to Rs 2,000 per month to about 12.5 million motorcycle riders in the province.<\/p>\n<p>Excise department sources say that under the scheme, a subsidy of up to Rs 100 will be given on per liter of petrol, while more than 8 million bikers have registered so far.<\/p>\n<p>According to statistics, about 50 million motorcycles have been registered in Punjab since 1980.
