With over three decades of experience in the energy sector, Syed Taha returns to the organization at a pivotal juncture in Pakistan\u2019s energy sector. He is known as a progressive leader who navigates complex regulatory changes and steers the organization towards optimal operational performance and financial recovery.<\/p>\n<p>On assuming the position, Syed Taha said, \u201cK-Electric plays a key role in keeping Pakistan\u2019s economy on the path of growth. Leading this organization at a time when the entire sector is undergoing major changes is a huge responsibility. While the challenges remain, the opportunities to innovate for our customers, shareholders, and the national economy are greater than ever. We will focus on reliable power supply and future-ready technologies to power Karachi\u2019s growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior to returning to K-Electric, Syed Taha served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan State Oil since February 2020. He led a historic financial turnaround, which resulted in the energy company pulling itself out of financial losses during his tenure and increasing the company\u2019s revenue to Rs. 3.3 trillion and Earnings Per Share to Rs. 35.03 by FY25. He is also credited with pioneering innovation in the company\u2019s retail network and introducing clean energy and electric vehicle charging.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to his return as CEO, Syed Taha served as Chief Distribution Officer, where he managed revenues of US$1.9 billion. His international experience includes serving as Executive Director at Oasis Energy, where he led the infrastructure modernization for Nigeria\u2019s Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED).<\/p>\n<p>His early career included leadership positions at Shell, Caltex (Chevron), and Pakistan Steel Mills.
