ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir has spoken to US President Donald Trump over the phone and informed him that the blockade of Iranian ports is becoming a major obstacle to negotiations.<\/p>\n

The international news agency Reuters<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/a> has reported, citing Pakistani security sources, that Pakistan\u2019s main mediator, Field Marshal Asim Munir, informed US President Donald Trump that the blockade is a major obstacle to negotiations, to which Trump indicated that he would consider this suggestion.<\/p>\n

Tehran denies second round of talks in Pakistan<\/h3>\n

The Spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry,\u00a0Esmail Baqai<\/a>, said that their delegation is not traveling to Pakistan for the second round of negotiations with America.<\/p>\n

He added that the United States of America cannot be trusted and Iran will always protect its interests.<\/p>\n

Baqai has accused the\u00a0United States<\/span><\/span>\u00a0of violating a ceasefire agreement and international law following reports of a naval blockade and an attack on an Iranian vessel.<\/p>\n

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson\u00a0Esmail Baghai<\/span><\/span>\u00a0said the US action targeting an Iranian ship amounted to a breach of the ceasefire and warned that Tehran would respond if further attacks occur.<\/p>\n

He stated that Iran has informed Pakistani mediators that it will not travel to Islamabad for the next round of negotiations, accusing Washington of failing to show seriousness in the diplomatic process.<\/p>\n

Baghai further noted that the US has carried out aggressive actions, including attacks that resulted in casualties and damage to infrastructure, and claimed that Washington\u2019s proposals in ongoing talks were \u201cunrealistic\u201d and \u201cfrivolous.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reaffirming Tehran\u2019s position, he said Iran will not accept deadlines or ultimatums when it comes to national interests and warned that any new military action by the US or Israel would be met with a response from Iranian armed forces.<\/p>\n

He also claimed that before recent tensions, maritime movement in the\u00a0Strait of Hormuz<\/span><\/span>\u00a0was stable, but said current conditions make it impossible to fully normalize shipping traffic.<\/p>\n
