ISLAMABAD: A 6% increase was recorded in petroleum product<\/a> imports during the first nine months of the current fiscal year.
\nAccording to OCAC, OGRA, PPIS and industry data, 13.277 million 646 metric tons of petroleum product imports were recorded in the first nine months, which is 6% more. In the same period of the previous fiscal year, 12.492 million 312 metric tons of petroleum product imports were recorded.<\/p>\n

According to the data, 13.37 million 760 metric tons of petroleum product imports were recorded in March, which is 4% more than the 13.32 million 926 metric tons in February.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the federal government decided to prepare the budget for the next fiscal year 2026-27 in accordance with the IMF conditions. The budget proposes to provide relief to the salaried class and in consultation with the IMF, the super tax will be gradually reduced. The stipend of BISP beneficiaries will also be increased by Rs. 5,000.<\/p>\n

According to Finance Ministry sources, the federal budget for the next fiscal year will be presented in the first week of June. A proposal to abolish income tax and sales tax exemptions for various sectors is under consideration in the budget for the fiscal year 2026-27. No new tax exemptions or exemptions will be given, including to special economic zones.<\/p>\n

The tax exemptions already obtained by special economic zones will be abolished. There will be a ban on selling finished products in export zones in the local market, and regular and timely increases in electricity and gas prices will be made mandatory.<\/p>\n

The IMF has also emphasized tightening tariff adjustments according to the loan program, the quarterly amount of BISP will be increased from 14,500 to 19,500 rupees, the audit system of the FBR will be strengthened and centralized, and the creation of new economic zones in the federal budget will remain banned for the time being.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
