ISLAMABAD: The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council, while predicting Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan, said that there is a strong possibility of Eid being celebrated on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.<\/p>\n
According to the details, the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council has released its scientific report on the sighting of the moon of Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH.<\/p>\n
Secretary General of the Council, Khalid Ijaz Mufti, said that scientific figures indicate that there is a strong possibility of Eid-ul-Adha being celebrated on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 in Pakistan.<\/p>\n
The Council says that the birth of the new moon will occur on the night between May 16 and 17 at 1:15 am according to Pakistani time, and by the time of sunset on May 17, the age of the moon will be more than 18 hours in most areas, which is enough to see the moon with the human eye.<\/p>\n
The report states that on May 17, the interval between sunset and moonset will be 55 minutes in Karachi and 63 minutes in Peshawar. If the weather remains clear, the moon will be clearly visible on Sunday evening, resulting in 1st Dhul-Hijjah on May 18 and Eid-ul-Adha on May 27.<\/p>\n
According to this scientific prediction, Eid-ul-Adha is likely to fall on the same day in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia this year.<\/p>\n
However, if the moon is not sighted on May 17 due to clouds, Dhul-Qa\u2019d will be 30 days long and Eid will be on Thursday, May 28.<\/p>\n
