ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis<\/a> and Human Resource Development<\/span><\/span> has recommended to the federal cabinet that Sardar Tahir Sabir<\/span><\/span> be given temporary charge as chairman of the National Industrial Relations Commission<\/span><\/span>, sources said.<\/p>\n

According to sources, the position of chairman of NIRC fell vacant following the resignation of Justice (retd) Shaukat Siddiqui<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Sources said the ministry informed the cabinet that additional time was required for the appointment of a permanent chairman.<\/p>\n

Officials further stated that under the Industrial Relations Act 2012, a temporary chairman cannot formally be appointed; however, one of the serving members of the commission can be assigned acting charge.<\/p>\n
