Political leaders cannot be kept behind bars indefinitely,\u201d Chan said, adding that as the political environment normalizes, the courts would also \u201cbecome normal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1014\" data-end=\"1155\">He stated that Imran Khan would eventually have to engage with political parties, but insisted such engagement should not be termed a \u201cdeal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1157\" data-end=\"1217\">\u201cNo one calls the Charter of Democracy a deal,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1219\" data-end=\"1358\">Commenting on President <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Asif Ali Zardari<\/span><\/span>, Chan said he was not the kind of politician who would resign under pressure.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1360\" data-end=\"1492\">\u201cWhy would he resign?
