{"id":112749,"date":"2026-05-16T14:50:26","date_gmt":"2026-05-16T09:50:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=112749"},"modified":"2026-05-16T15:05:33","modified_gmt":"2026-05-16T10:05:33","slug":"new-notification-issued-for-business-closing-hours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/new-notification-issued-for-business-closing-hours\/","title":{"rendered":"New Notification issued for business closing hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The capital administration issued notification about the<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/new-market-timings-announced-in-islamabad\/\"> closing times of shops<\/a>, markets and malls, partially amending its second order issued on April 16.<\/p>\n<p>An amendment was made to the timings of sports facilities and clubs, including gymnasiums.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the closing time of these facilities was 8pm, which now has been extended to 10pm. The notification issued from the office of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon said a partial modification had been made to the notification issued earlier in the light of ongoing austerity measures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is notified that all shops, markets and shopping malls shall be closed at 08:00pm throughout the week (including Saturday and Sunday). However, sectors like pharmacies, medical stores, medical supply stores, medical laboratories and hospitals are exempted from the restriction.\u201d Besides, petrol pumps, CNG stations, milk\/dairy shops are too exempted from the restriction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll hotels, restaurants and food outlets, tandoors, grocery stores, kiryana stores, meat shops, fruit including dry fruit shops vegetable vendors and bakeries shall be closed at 10:00pm (there shall be no restriction on takeaway and home delivery services).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>All marriage halls, marquees and other commercial places where festive events are held shall be closed at 10pm throughout the week. This closing time shall also be applied in the case of events held at private premises. The order has come into effect on April 25 and will remain in force till further orders, it added.<\/p>\n<h2>Business hours restrictions lifted in Sindh also<\/h2>\n<p>The Sindh government has announced the lifting of restrictions on business hours, taking into account the suggestions and issues of traders and industrialists across the province, including Karachi.<\/p>\n<p>Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that markets and bazaars in Mirpur Khas, Sukkur, Hyderabad and Larkana will also remain open as usual.<\/p>\n<p>He said that food outlets, wedding halls and marquees will also be exempted from the closing hours, while business centers will now be able to continue their activities as usual without any restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>Sharjeel Memon said that the Sindh government believes in the promotion of business activities and the stability of the economy and always makes decisions keeping in mind consultation, public interest and ground realities.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the business community is the backbone of the country&#8217;s economy, which is why all possible steps will be taken to resolve their problems.<\/p>\n<p>Wind, thunderstorm and heavy rain predicted in different parts of the country<\/p>\n<p>The provincial minister said that even in difficult economic conditions, the Sindh government ensured the protection of the interests of the people and the business community and in the future, such decisions will also be taken that will help in the promotion of the economy and business activities.<\/p>\n<h2>Punjab govt lifts market closure timing restrictions until June 1<\/h2>\n<p>Responding to traders\u2019 protests and appeals by the shopping malls association and general public to revise 8pm business closure timings, the Punjab government has granted partial relief and lifted the restriction on market timings until June 1.<\/p>\n<p>The implementation and coordination wing of the Services and General Administration Department (S&amp;GAD), the Punjab government on Friday notified that \u201call the shops, markets, shopping malls, hotels, restaurants and food outlets are exempted from the prescribed closure timings till June 1, 2026\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The capital administration issued notification about the closing times of shops, markets and malls, partially amending its second order issued on April 16.
