ISLAMABAD: The government has launched a major crackdown against several prominent restaurants and supermarkets in Islamabad, sealing multiple outlets over tax violations<\/a> and the sale of expired food products.<\/p>\n

According to officials, a branch of the popular fast-food chain Red Apple was sealed for alleged tax default and non-compliance with tax regulations.<\/p>\n

More concerning, however, was the discovery of expired food items being used and served at some of the capital’s most well-known dining establishments. Authorities sealed Tuscany Courtyard, Sweet Cr\u00e8me, and Jaybees after inspections reportedly found expired food products being offered to customers.<\/p>\n

The operation also targeted major retail chains. Well-known supermarkets, including Imtiaz, Al-Fatah, and Springs Mart, were sealed after food safety inspectors allegedly found expired products displayed on store shelves.<\/p>\n

Officials stated that the action sends a clear message that no business, regardless of its brand reputation or market standing, is above the law when it comes to public health and regulatory compliance.<\/p>\n

The authorities have urged consumers to remain vigilant and always check expiry dates before purchasing food items or dining out.<\/p>\n
