{"id":116062,"date":"2026-06-22T14:39:22","date_gmt":"2026-06-22T09:39:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=116062"},"modified":"2026-06-22T14:39:22","modified_gmt":"2026-06-22T09:39:22","slug":"thirty-newly-elected-gb-members-take-oath","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/thirty-newly-elected-gb-members-take-oath\/","title":{"rendered":"Thirty newly elected GB members take oath"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GILGIT: Thirty out of thirty-three newly elected members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/ppp-intensifies-contacts-for-government-formation-in-gilgit-baltistan\/\">Gilgit-Baltistan<\/a> Assembly took the oath on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, Nazir Ahmed Advocate, administered the oath to the newly elected members.<\/p>\n<p>13 members of the PPP and 9 members of the (N) League took the oath, while 6 members of the Istehkam-e- Pakistan Party and one member of the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) took the oath.<\/p>\n<p>Independent members supported by PTI are also among those who took the oath.<\/p>\n<p>The Speaker of the Gilgit Assembly adjourned the GB Assembly session till 3 pm today. The election of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Leader of the House will be held in the resumed session.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that the notification of 3 constituencies of Gilgit is pending on a court order, including 1 of Skardu and 2 of Diamer.<\/p>\n<p>The official notification of 3 constituencies was stayed on a court order, and 3 members could not take the oath of their membership.<\/p>\n<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3ca5c6a elementor-widget elementor-widget-theme-post-title elementor-page-title elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3ca5c6a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"theme-post-title.default\">\n<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">PPP\u2019s Amjad Hussain Advocate set to secure GB Chief Ministership Unopposed<\/h3>\n<p>The Pakistan Peoples Party (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/ppp-pml-n-reach-agreement-on-gb-government-formation\/\">PPP<\/a>) is likely to be elected Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan unopposed.<\/p>\n<p>According to sources, the PPP has had backdoor contacts with political parties in Gilgit-Baltistan, through which it has convinced them not to field a candidate for the Chief Minister.<\/p>\n<p>Sources say that Amjad Hussain Advocate will be the PPP\u2019s candidate for the Chief Minister. The PPP will announce the name of the Chief Minister after the swearing-in of the GB Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>The Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly session has been called for 4 pm tomorrow, but its holding is likely to be delayed.<\/p>\n<p>According to sources, the names of the Chief Minister and Speaker of Gilgit-Baltistan will be announced on June 22, with the decisions to be made by Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, PPP sources said that the PPP leadership has given the green signal for the formation of a coalition government in GB, and sources had claimed that the Stability Pakistan Party will be part of the Gilgit-Baltistan government.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GILGIT: Thirty out of thirty-three newly elected members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly took the oath on Monday.
