Local authorities confirmed that the accident occurred as the mountaineer was making his way toward the summit.<\/p>\n<p>Rescue operations were launched immediately after the incident. A local rescue team from Hushe village, led by Ghulam Abbas, is currently working to transport the body from the base camp.
