The authority has been providing advance warnings to all relevant departments to help them prepare for potential emergencies and minimize risks.<\/p>\n<p>The advisory warns that major highways, including the Karakoram Highway (KKH\/N-35), Jaglot-Skardu Road (JSR), and several connecting roads, may face temporary closures due to landslides during the forecast period.<\/p>\n<p>Local administrations have been directed to closely monitor vulnerable locations, while emergency response teams have been placed on high alert for rapid deployment if required. Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs) have also been instructed to ensure the availability of machinery, equipment, and emergency resources.<\/p>\n<p>The NDMA has urged residents and tourists to avoid unnecessary travel in mountainous areas, particularly during or immediately after heavy rainfall. Travelers are advised to follow instructions issued by local authorities, traffic police, and law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n<p>The authority also warned that landslides could temporarily disrupt road links, electricity supply, and communication networks.
