{"id":118470,"date":"2026-07-17T20:33:05","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T15:33:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=118470"},"modified":"2026-07-17T20:33:05","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T15:33:05","slug":"your-next-electricity-bill-may-shock-you-as-govt-plans-price-hike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/your-next-electricity-bill-may-shock-you-as-govt-plans-price-hike\/","title":{"rendered":"Your next electricity bill may shock you as govt plans price hike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/electricity-price-likely-to-increase-by-rs-1-20-per-unit\/\">Electricity users<\/a> in Pakistan might see yet another increase in power charges following the request by the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) for approval of a fuel adjustment charge (FAC) of Rs. 1.20 per unit for June 2026 from the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).<\/p>\n<p>The increase, if approved, will add a further financial burden of above Rs. 18 billion on consumers in just one month.<\/p>\n<h2>Electricity Generation Becomes 14% Cheaper<\/h2>\n<p>This increase has been requested under the Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) that adjusts the tariff based on changes in the cost of fuel required for the production of electricity.<\/p>\n<p>NEPRA will be hearing CPPA\u2019s petition on July 29 for its decision-making process.
