NEW DELHI: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI<\/a>) Secretary Devajit Saikia has dismissed reports that the Lord’s ODI has been declared Rohit Sharma’s last match.<\/p>\n

According to Indian media reports, the BCCI Secretary has strongly denied these reports and said that there was no discussion in the board regarding Rohit Sharma’s retirement, so the third ODI at Lord’s is not his last ODI match.<\/p>\n

He said that Rohit Sharma is an important player of the team and there was no discussion regarding declaring the Lord’s ODI as his last match.<\/p>\n

The BCCI Secretary said that Rohit Sharma is a permanent member of the Indian ODI team and as long as he is part of the team’s plans, he will continue to represent the country.<\/p>\n

Currently, the entire team’s focus is on the important match against England, so there is no need to pay attention to such speculations.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that some Indian media reports claimed that the selectors have decided to plan for the future without experienced opener Rohit Sharma in view of the preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup, due to which the Lord’s ODI could be his last international match.<\/p>\n

Rumors about Rohit Sharma’s future gained momentum when he failed to play big innings in the first two ODI matches against England.<\/p>\n
