{"id":119070,"date":"2026-07-26T19:18:25","date_gmt":"2026-07-26T14:18:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=119070"},"modified":"2026-07-26T19:18:25","modified_gmt":"2026-07-26T14:18:25","slug":"pakistan-expands-gulf-defence-cooperation-as-kuwait-approves-security-partnership-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/featured\/pakistan-expands-gulf-defence-cooperation-as-kuwait-approves-security-partnership-framework\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan expands Gulf defence cooperation as Kuwait approves Security Partnership framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KUWAIT CITY: Pakistan and Kuwait are set to deepen their longstanding defence partnership after <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/world\/iran-claims-missile-strikes-on-us-bases-in-kuwait-and-bahrain\/\">Kuwait<\/a> formally approved a landmark military cooperation agreement, paving the way for enhanced collaboration in defence, security, training, technology and intelligence-sharing.<\/p>\n<p>According to Arab media, the official approval was published in the Official Gazette today, under the approval decree No. 73 of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>According to the text of the agreement, the decree approves the agreement signed in Kuwait on June 11, 2023, as the cooperation aims to strengthen defense relations.<\/p>\n<p>According to the agreement, the purpose is to establish a framework for cooperation in military training, education, and armed forces in accordance with the laws and regulations of the two countries and their international obligations, including the scope of military training and education, logistical cooperation, and the exchange of military personnel, as mutually agreed.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement covers technical experts, scientific and technical cooperation, military intelligence, and other areas.<\/p>\n<p>For the implementation of the agreement, the two countries will prepare annual plans through executive protocols and programs. The agreement also provides for increasing cooperation through the exchange of official visits at various levels.<\/p>\n<p>A Joint Military Committee will be established to coordinate and supervise the implementation of the agreement. The committee appointed by the defense ministers of the two countries will meet once a year. It includes provisions on the protection of confidential information exchanged between the two sides.<\/p>\n<p>According to the text of the agreement, classified documents, information and materials cannot be shared with any third party without the written permission of the other party.<\/p>\n<p>The two countries also undertake to maintain the confidentiality of the information exchanged. This obligation continues even after the termination of the agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Under the financial arrangements, the agreement is based on the principle of cooperation. The host country will bear the expenses of internal official travel, accommodation and emergency medical treatment of delegations on official visits.<\/p>\n<p>The provisions of the agreement will not affect the rights or obligations of any country under other international agreements or treaties.<\/p>\n<p>Any dispute arising from the interpretation or implementation of the agreement will be resolved amicably through consultations between the two parties.
