The Office of the External Linkage, Rawalpindi Women University in collaboration with the US Mission to Pakistan organized a seminar on \u201cGlobal Engagement and Opportunities for Scholarships and Exchange Programs\u201d for the students, faculty, and administration. Farah Chery-Medor, Country Cultural Attach\u00e9 headed the US Mission along with Director Educational Affairs, Sharif Sabir, and Juan German, Public Diplomacy Officer.<\/p>\n
Prof. Dr. Anila Kamal greeted the mission and discussed the topics of mutual interests. Farah Chery-Medor, Country Cultural Attach\u00e9, speaking on the occasion said that Pakistan has diversity and we always strive to incorporate diversity in all our exchange programs. In our attempt to be gender balance we try to empower young women so on returning they can serve Pakistan better.<\/p>\n
Officer of Public Diplomacy, Juan German educated students, faculty on several exchange programs, their qualifying requirements, and application procedures. He went on to say that exchange programs are beneficial because they enhance ties between the United States and Pakistan. Individuals have the opportunity to explore, gain new viewpoints, and become ambassadors of Pakistan in the United States.<\/p>\n
Prof. Dr. Anila Kamal, Vice Chancellor RWU, thanked the guests for devoting their valuable time to deliver an effective career-oriented seminar at RWU and admired the US mission Pakistan\u2019s supportive behavior towards education in general, especially towards women empowerment initiatives in Pakistan. She also appreciated external linkages department of RWU for providing students with such an opportunity where students can discover endless possibilities for expanding their horizons through international scholarships and exchange programs offered by USA, she added.<\/p>\n
The guests from U.S embassy appreciated the Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr. Anila\u2019s efforts in promoting higher education among hundreds of female students while hoping that more collaborations will continue to take place so both students and faculty members can benefit from such experiences.
