PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah Khan was arrested on Monday by the Anti Narcotics Force’s (ANF) Lahore team while he was traveling from Faisalabad to Lahore, as confirmed by the sources in the ANF.<\/p>\n

The senior PML-N leader\u00a0 was arrested on the Islamabad-Lahore motorway near the Sukheki area, the sources said.<\/p>\n

In a video message, Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the ANF had arrested Sanaullah on “authentic information” that the PML-N leader’s vehicle contained drugs worth Rs 150 million to Rs 200 million, as reported by the Radio Pakistan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She said “there is no-one beyond the constitution and law in Naya Pakistan”. She also said that “ANF is an independent institution and there is no link of government interest in this detention”.<\/p>\n

She further added that the “PML-N wants to use the arrest of Rana Sanaullah for political point scoring”.<\/p>\n

The ANF has not officially specified the charges on which Sanaullah has been picked up, but spokesperson Riaz Soomro said drugs were recovered from Sanaullah’s car. The quantity and type of drugs recovered is still being assessed, he said.<\/p>\n

The ANF team arrested Sanaullah, a vocal critic of Prime Minister Imran Khan, on his way to Lahore from Faisalabad on Motorway at around 3pm at Sukheki.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
