{"id":17319,"date":"2023-06-21T17:01:31","date_gmt":"2023-06-21T12:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=17319"},"modified":"2023-06-21T17:01:31","modified_gmt":"2023-06-21T12:01:31","slug":"army-chief-included-in-pm-led-body-formed-for-economic-revival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/army-chief-included-in-pm-led-body-formed-for-economic-revival\/","title":{"rendered":"Army chief included in PM-led body formed for economic revival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The federal government has constituted the &#8216;Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to provide an impetus to the government&#8217;s efforts for economic revival \u2014 to be chaired by the prime minister and comprising the army chief and senior federal minister.<\/p>\n<p>The notification in this regard has been issued by the PM Office.<\/p>\n<div class=\"medium-insert-images ui-sortable medium-insert-images-right50\">\n<figure contenteditable=\"false\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.geo.tv\/assets\/uploads\/updates\/2023-06-21\/494755_33793_updates.jpeg\" alt=\"\u2014 PM Office\" width=\"713\" height=\"900\" \/><figcaption class=\"\" contenteditable=\"false\">\u2014 PM Office<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cPursuant to the meeting held on Friday, 2nd June, 2023 with regard to attracting investment from GCC countries in the fields of defence, agriculture, minerals, IT and energy, the prime minister has been pleased to constitute &#8216;Special Investment Facilitation Council&#8217; (SIFC),\u201d the notification read.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement comes a day after the government unveiled an elaborate \u2018Economic Revival Plan\u2019 with a view to capitalise on Pakistan\u2019s untapped potential in key sectors, fast-track the development projects and facilitate investment.<\/p>\n<p>The plan was unveiled during a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, which was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, chief ministers, federal and provincial ministers, and other high-level government officials.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, COAS Munir assured all-out support to complement the government\u2019s plan for the revival of the economy.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I have fervently advocated a unified approach to steer the country out of the economic challenges on a path to sustainable growth.
