{"id":17553,"date":"2023-07-03T20:25:08","date_gmt":"2023-07-03T15:25:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=17553"},"modified":"2023-07-03T20:25:08","modified_gmt":"2023-07-03T15:25:08","slug":"fifa-womens-world-cup-2023-everything-you-need-to-know-ahead-of-tournament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/sports\/fifa-womens-world-cup-2023-everything-you-need-to-know-ahead-of-tournament\/","title":{"rendered":"FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup 2023: Everything you need to know ahead of tournament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ninth edition of FIFA Women\u2019s World Cup is just around the corner, with Australia and New Zealand gearing up to kick off the mega event on July 20.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s tournament will include 64 matches, with the first fixture and the opening ceremony set to take place at New Zealand\u2019s Eden Park in Auckland on July 20.<\/p>\n<p>This will be the first time two nations will host the tournament.<\/p>\n<h2>Groups<\/h2>\n<p>Thirty-two teams have been divided into eight four groups for the mega event.<\/p>\n<p><b>Group A:<\/b>\u00a0New Zealand (hosts), Norway, Philippines, Switzerland<\/p>\n<p><b>Group B:<\/b>\u00a0Australia (hosts), Canada, Nigeria, Ireland<\/p>\n<p><b>Group C:<\/b>\u00a0Costa Rica, Japan, Spain, Zambia<\/p>\n<p><b>Group D:<\/b>\u00a0China, Denmark, England, Haiti<\/p>\n<p><b>Group E:<\/b>\u00a0Netherlands, Portugal, United States, Vietnam<\/p>\n<p><b>Group F:<\/b>\u00a0Brazil, France, Jamaica, Panama<\/p>\n<p><b>Group G:<\/b>\u00a0Argentina, Italy, South Africa, Sweden<\/p>\n<p><b>Group H:<\/b>\u00a0Colombia, Germany, South Korea, Morocco<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Read more:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/sports\/india-allows-pakistan-football-teams-participation-in-saff-cup.html\">India allows Pakistan football team&#8217;s participation in SAFF Cup<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Venues<\/h2>\n<p>Matches will be held at 10 stadiums \u2014 Lang Park, Hindmarsh Stadium, Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, Perth Oval, Stadium Australia, Sydney Football Stadium, Dunedin Stadium, Eden Park, Waikato Stadium and Wellington Regional Stadium.<\/p>\n<h2>Schedule<\/h2>\n<p>There will be a round-robin format in the group stage, in which each team will play three matches.<\/p>\n<p>The top two in each group will progress to the round of 16.
