England midfielder Mason Mount has moved from Chelsea to Manchester United for a reported fee of \u00a355 million ($70 million), the club announced on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cMason Mount has joined Manchester United on a contract running until June 2028, with the option of a further year,\u201d the club said in an official statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe 24-year-old midfielder has made 279 club appearances, scoring 58 goals and contributing 53 assists. The Champions League winner was Chelsea\u2019s Player of the Year for both the 2020\/21 and 2021\/22 seasons.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has 36 caps for England and played a key role in his country\u2019s run to the European Championship final in 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mount, after officially becoming a United player, stated that he is excited about the upcoming challenge with his new club.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s never easy leaving the club where you grew up, but Manchester United will provide an exciting new challenge for the next phase of my career,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone can see that the club has made big steps forward under Erik ten Hag. Having met with the manager and discussed his plans, I couldn\u2019t be more excited for the seasons ahead, and am ready for the hard work expected here.<\/p>\n

The midfielder has also gotten #7 which was previously worn by legendary Man United players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and George Best.<\/p>\n
The 24-year-old is the first summer signing of the 20-time Premier League (PL) winners.<\/p>\n
Mount joined Chelsea as a six-year-old and was promoted to the first team at the age of 18, since then, the midfielder featured in 195 matches wearing the Blue colours, netting 33 goals and assisting 37.<\/p>\n
He also left his mark in the history books of the Blues after assisting Kai Havertz, who scored the only goal in the 2021 UEFA Champions League (UCL) final against Manchester City at the Estadio do Dragao, Porto.<\/p>\n
