{"id":18833,"date":"2023-08-24T16:46:47","date_gmt":"2023-08-24T11:46:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=18833"},"modified":"2023-08-24T16:46:47","modified_gmt":"2023-08-24T11:46:47","slug":"drap-denies-increasing-prices-of-life-saving-drugs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/health\/drap-denies-increasing-prices-of-life-saving-drugs\/","title":{"rendered":"Drap denies increasing prices of life-saving drugs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (Drap) has clarified that prices of medicine have not been increased by the government.<\/p>\n<p>Talking to a private news channel on Thursday, a senior official of the drug regulatory authority said the government has fixed the prices of 25 new medicines which were previously not registered and available in the country.<\/p>\n<p>These newly registered medicines include cancer drugs as well as a new cold and flu medicine containing paracetamol and another salt that is different from simple paracetamol tablets and syrup available in the market.<\/p>\n<p>Prices of all the existing and registered medicines have not been increased and they are being sold at the previously announced prices, the DRAP official announced.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Read more:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/world\/over-40-dead-in-police-raids-targeting-drug-gangs-in-brazil.html\">Over 40 dead in police raids targeting drug gangs in Brazil<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Earlier in June this year, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet had granted approval for increasing the prices of 49 medicines under Minimum Retail Price (MRP).<\/p>\n<p>However, the government claimed that the prices of these 49 medicines were 24 to 77% less as compared to other regional countries, including India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (Drap) has clarified that prices of medicine have not been increased by the government.
