LAHORE: Commuters between Lahore and Islamabad can now celebrate as the fares for this route have seen a notable reduction of Rs 80 following a decline in petroleum prices.<\/p>\n
The caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, issued the directives that led to the decision to reduce transportation costs.<\/p>\n
In response to the decline in fuel prices, a number of Lahore-based transport companies quickly reduced their fares by 5 to 10%. The Leh AC bus fare was reduced from Rs 2200 to Rs 2100; the Bahawalpur AC bus fare was raised from Rs 1750 to Rs 1650; and the Multan A bus fare was lowered from Rs 1850 to Rs 1650.<\/p>\n
These are some of the notable changes. In place of the previous Rs 2050, passengers travelling from Muzaffargarh will now pay Rs 1800, and those travelling to Fort Abbas will pay Rs 1700 instead of Rs 1800.<\/p>\n
The revised fares for the route from Lahore to Islamabad are specifically Rs 2680 instead of Rs 2760. Similarly, commuters going to Karachi will pay a fare of only Rs 6150 instead of Rs 6350. The fare for the Peshawar route has been reduced from Rs 2530 to Rs 2430, and the Quetta route will now cost Rs 3600 instead of Rs 3800.<\/p>\n
