The PTI leader&#8217;s physical remand for 30 days is demanded by the prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>Read more:\u00a0<em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/shah-mahmood-qureshi-likely-to-be-freed-from-adiala-jail-today.html\">Shah Mahmood Qureshi likely to be freed from Adiala jail today<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Under stringent security protocols, he was brought before the court of Duty Magistrate Syed Jahangir Ali regarding the GHQ attack case.<\/p>\n<p>Police requested a 30-day physical remand of the former foreign minister at the beginning of the hearing, but the PTI vice president&#8217;s attorneys objected.<\/p>\n<p>The attorneys contended that the defendants in the violence cases of May 9 had been found not guilty and pleaded with the court to clear Shah Mahmood Qureshi.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecution requested a 30-day physical remand, but the duty magistrate rejected the request and returned the defendant to Adiala Jail on a 14-day judicial remand later in the afternoon after announcing the reserved verdict.<\/p>\n<p>Read More:\u00a0<em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/according-to-qureshi-he-was-tortured-in-prison-last-night.html\">According to Qureshi He was &amp;#8216;tortured&amp;#8217; in prison last night<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Qureshi, was previously brought to the courthouse in an armored car while handcuffed in order to appear before the duty magistrate in a vandalism case from May 9.<\/p>\n<p>Special security measures had been put in place by the police for Qureshi&#8217;s court appearance.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Shah Mehmood Qureshi was removed from Adiala Jail and placed under custody.<\/p>\n<p>Television footage showed the former foreign minister being hauled into an armored police car by staff.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, the deputy commissioner of Rawalpindi ordered the 15-day detention of Shah Mehmood Qureshi.<\/p>\n<p>Shah Mehmood Qureshi was implicated in the May 9 attack on the GHQ, Rawalpindi gate, according to the detention orders, which also warned that his release might endanger social harmony and order.<\/p>\n<p>It went on to say that based on the station house officer&#8217;s (SHO) report, the city police officer recommended a 45-day detention.
