ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court has extended the physical remand of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry for a period of six days, according to a recent development at the Judicial Complex in Islamabad.<\/p>\n

He was brought before the court today following a 10-day physical remand. The verdict came after that.<\/p>\n

With attorneys making their cases and finishing the necessary legal procedures, Fawad Chaudhry was brought before the court under intense legal scrutiny. The court then stated that it would not be making a decision on the remand request.<\/p>\n

Following the announcement of the verdict, the accountability court instructed the authorities to meet with the lawyers involved and carry out a thorough investigation going forward.<\/p>\n

On January 5, additional proceedings in this case are planned, during which Fawad Chaudhry will appear before the accountability court once more.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the decision to declare Fawad Chaudhry an absconder was suspended by the Lahore High Court (LHC). All parties involved have received notices and will be summoned on January 11.<\/p>\n

Based on a police report, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) judge had earlier declared Fawad Chaudhry to be an absconder; however, this decision has since been temporarily revoked pending additional legal considerations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
