Karachi: Sharjeel Inam Memon, former Sindh minister for information, transport, and mass transit, announced on Saturday that a new batch of buses for the People’s Bus Service had arrived in Karachi for the project’s second phase.<\/p>\n

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader shared the information on the social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), saying that “these buses were procured by the PPP’s Sindh government.”<\/p>\n

During the PPP’s tenure, the Sindh government launched the intra-district People’s Bus Service project in Karachi in June 2022. The air-conditioned buses came from China.<\/p>\n

Sharjeel went on to say that the people of Karachi could now take advantage of this ‘amazing service’ at the most affordable price.<\/p>\n

Sharjeel added that the buses would be ready for public use in a matter of days.<\/p>\n

Around 240 air-conditioned buses were imported from China for the Peoples Intra District Bus Service project’s first phase. In the first phase, seven routes were finalized, with 240 buses operating on them.<\/p>\n

Following an increase in demand, the PPP-led Sindh government expanded the seven routes in July 2022 to include the Clifton, Defence, and Gulshan-e-Hadeed routes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
