ISLAMABAD: The Oil & Gas Development Company Limited<\/a> (OGDCL) has achieved a significant milestone with the successful testing and completion of the Sono-9 well in the Sono Development & Production Lease (D&P.L) located in district Hyderabad, Sindh. The well, drilled to a depth of 2350 meters, targeted the hydrocarbon potential in the Upper Sand (1B) of the Lower Goru formation.<\/p>\n

OGDCL, holding a 100% stake as the operator in Sono D&P.L, employed in-house expertise to bring the Sono-9 well into the production stream. Notably, Sono-9 is the first well to be directly completed with Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) after thorough well logging and pressure testing.<\/p>\n

During testing, the well exhibited promising results by producing 1850 Barrels Per Day (BPD) of oil. OGDCL has embraced cutting-edge artificial lifting technology, with seven wells already equipped with ESP, leading to a substantial improvement in production levels.<\/p>\n

This achievement marks a significant step in OGDCL’s production enhancement roadmap, contributing to the country’s energy sector and reinforcing its position as a leading player in the oil and gas industry.<\/p>\n
