{"id":25758,"date":"2024-02-13T23:27:40","date_gmt":"2024-02-13T18:27:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=25758"},"modified":"2024-02-13T23:27:40","modified_gmt":"2024-02-13T18:27:40","slug":"nadra-officials-among-16-arrested-in-fake-passport-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/nadra-officials-among-16-arrested-in-fake-passport-case\/","title":{"rendered":"NADRA officials among 16 arrested in fake passport case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fia.gov.pk\/\">Federal Investigation Agency<\/a> (FIA) arrested 15 suspects including seven officers of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and Passport Immigration in a case pertaining to the issuance of fake Pakistani passports to Afghan nationals.<\/p>\n<p>According to details, three Assistant Director Passport Immigration, and four NADRA officers have been arrested by the FIA.<\/p>\n<p>The sources said that four agents and five Afghan nationals were also arrested in the operation.<\/p>\n<p>The FIA has taken action on complaints received from NADRA and the Passport Office.<\/p>\n<p>The gang was involved in the issuance of forged Pakistani passports at the international level. The FIA sources said that 16 accused have been arrested in the case.<\/p>\n<p>It added that efforts are being by the FIA made to arrest more suspects.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on January 8, two officials of the Passport Office Islamabad including a woman have been arrested by the FIA in a case about issuance of forged passports.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Read more:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/deputy-assistant-director-of-nadra-najeeb-ullah-kidnapped-from-islamabad.html\">Deputy Assistant Director NADRA, Najeeb Ullah kidnapped from Islamabad<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The arrests were made after pre-arrest bail of the accused was revoked by the Special Judge Central.<\/p>\n<p>The arrested suspects were serving at the printing section of Passport Office Islamabad and were on bail before arrest.
