PESHAWAR: Amid a flurry of court cases, Chief Justice Ibrahim Khan of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) has approved Omar Ayub’s bail application. He was told to provide a one lakh rupee bond and promise to appear before the appropriate courts within a month, which led to the decision.<\/p>\n

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has proposed Ayub as their nominee for prime minister. The approval of Ayub’s bail comes after a lengthy court battle in which 23 cases have been brought against him, according to the petitioner, Babar Awan, a fellow PTI politician.<\/p>\n

According to Awan, of these cases, 13 are filed in Rawalpindi, 2 in Islamabad, 4 in Lahore, 3 in Attock, and 1 in Gujranwala.
\nAwan begged for an eight-week timeframe to settle all of the legal issues involving him in order to get some peace of mind.<\/p>\n

Chief Justice Khan requested clarification regarding the duration granted to the accused for obtaining bail in view of these events.
