Islamabad: Former Defence Minister and PML-N leader Khawaja Asif accused former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa and ex-spymaster Faiz Hameed of exerting influence over legislative processes during their tenure.<\/p>\n

Speaking to journalists at Parliament House, Asif stressed the importance of constructive dialogue and cooperation among all stakeholders for addressing the country’s challenges and ensuring political stability.<\/p>\n

Asif claimed that during his time in office, military figures, including Bajwa and Hameed, played a significant role in crafting legislation, particularly regarding the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).<\/p>\n

He criticized President Dr Arif Alvi’s reluctance to summon the National Assembly session, suggesting that he should be tried under Article 6 for violating the constitution.<\/p>\n

As per the Constitution, the first session of the National Assembly must be convened within 21 days after general elections.
