Mumbai: Indian authorities intercepted a ship bound for Karachi at Mumbai’s Nhava Sheva port suspecting it of carrying nuclear-related cargo for Pakistan’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs, as reported by NDTV. The ship, named CMA CGM Attila and flagged in Malta, had departed from China en route to Karachi on January 23.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Customs officials in India inspected the shipment, which included a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine manufactured by an Italian company. This machine, operated by a computer, offers high levels of efficiency, consistency, and accuracy not achievable through manual methods.<\/p>\n

NDTV claimed that a team from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) confirmed the potential use of the consignment by Pakistan in its nuclear program. According to experts cited by the Indian publication, the cargo could aid in manufacturing crucial components for Pakistan’s missile development efforts.<\/p>\n

The action taken by officials at Nhava Sheva port was based on specific intelligence. Indian security officials later seized the consignment after halting its movement.<\/p>\n

According to NDTV’s report, the consignment’s documents listed the sender as “Shanghai JXE Global Logistics Co Ltd” and the recipient as “Pakistan Wings Pvt Ltd” in Sialkot. However, further investigation by security agencies revealed that the 22,180-kilogram cargo was actually shipped by Taiyuan Mining Import and Export Co Ltd and intended for Cosmos Engineering in Pakistan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
