The federal government has announced a significant rise in passport fees. Citizens will have to pay an additional 50% to get the basic travel document.<\/p>\n

Directorate General of Immigration and Passports also shared notification in this regard. The notification noted a major increase in the passport fee, with the new prices ranging from Rs 45,000 to Rs 27,000.<\/p>\n

The recent move by the government to raise passport fees has raised serious concerns among those who are already struggling with inflation and trying to settle abroad.<\/p>\n

A regular 36-page passport valid for five years now costs Rs 4,500, up from Rs 3,000 under the revised fees.<\/p>\n

Latest Passport fee in Pakistan<\/h2>\n

The Government of Pakistan has decided to enhance the Machine Readable Passport fee w.e.f. 07-03-2024.<\/p>\n

The federal govt has set a normal passport fee having five years of validity (36 pages) at Rs 4,500 and urgent costing Rs 7,500.<\/p>\n
