Islamabad United while chasing faced difficulties as Sultans&#8217; bowlers gave everything to defend the total but the last ball drama unfolded the victory for Islamabad United.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/thePSLt20\/status\/1769838798949527669<\/p>\n<p>While batting first, Rizwan-led Multan faced early disappointments as two wickets went in the first 2 overs. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan played a rescue inning with Usman Khan scoring 53 runs partnership until Rizwan fell short on Shdab Khan&#8217;s delivery in the 10<sup>th<\/sup> over.<\/p>\n<p>In the 15<sup>th<\/sup> over, Usman brought up his second PSL 9 half-century. Shadab Khan removed Usman on the first ball of the next over. After the removal of Rizwan and Usman Khan, only Iftikhar Ahmed showed resilience in the batting, smashing an unbeaten 32 off 20 balls.<\/p>\n<p>For United&#8217;s bowling lineup, spinners shined as Imad Wasim dismissed Multan&#8217;s five players while leg-spinner Shadab Khan clinched three wickets.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/multan-sultans-islamabad-united-to-contest-for-psl-9-title-today\/\">Multan Sultans, Islamabad United to contest for PSL 9 title today<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>In pursuit of a 160-run target, Islamabad United started on a 26-run opening partnership between Colin Munro and Martin Guptill, until Khushdil removed the former for 17 on 13, with four boundaries, in the fourth over.<\/p>\n<p>Islamabad lost three wickets earlier in the powerplay and were 55-3 after which Martin Guptill and Azam Khan built a crucial 47-run partnership that put them in the driving seat once again.<\/p>\n<p>However, Guptill was run out after scoring 50 runs on 32 balls courtesy of a small misunderstanding with Azam leaving his side 102-4 in 12.5 overs.<\/p>\n<p>Down the order, Imad Wasim and Naseem Shah scored valuable runs leading the team near the victory.<\/p>\n<p>It was the last ball when Hunain Shah came into bat with one run required off the final ball. The youngster hit the ball for four making Islamabad United players celebrate and run to the ground in joy.<\/p>\n<p>Khushdil and Iftikhar returned with two wickets each while David Willey, Mohammad Ali, and Usama Mir had one each.<\/p>\n<h2>Top performers of Pakistan Super League Season 9 (PSL 9)<\/h2>\n<p>A post-match prize ceremony was held where top performers of the final match and tournament were given awards.<\/p>\n<p>Islamabad United&#8217;s Imad Wasim was awarded Player of the Final after his five wickets haul and valuable 19* off 17.<\/p>\n<p>Usman Khan of Multan Sultans was awarded with Batter of the Tournament after his 430 runs.<\/p>\n<p>Multan Sultan&#8217;s Usama Mir clinched 24 wickets which led him to be awarded Bowler of the Tournament.<\/p>\n<p>Peshawar Zalmi&#8217;s star opener Saim Ayub stunned fans with his bowling skills throughout the PSL 9 and was awarded All-Rounder of the Tournament. Saim Ayub scored 345 runs and took eight wickets.<\/p>\n<p>Karachi Kings&#8217; Muhammad Irfan Khan was named Emerging Player of the Tournament for his 171 runs throughout the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/thePSLt20\/status\/1769862852913889301<\/p>\n<p>Muhammad Irfan Khan of Karachi Kings awarded Fielder of the Tournament after he grabbed eight catches.<\/p>\n<p>Islamabad United&#8217;s Azam Khan was named Wicketkeeper of the Tournament after he dismissed 10 players behind the stump and scored 226 runs.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan Super League\u00a0Player of the Tournament award went to Islamabad United&#8217;s captain Shadab Khan for his 305 runs and 14 wickets.<\/p>\n<p>Peshawar Zalmi gets the Spirit of Cricket Award.
