ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government has unveiled plans to offer assistance to households consuming less than 300 units of electricity. Mujtaba Shujaur Rahman, Punjab’s Finance Minister, announced this initiative during a media briefing at the Punjab Assembly premises.<\/p>\n

He stated that a scheme is being developed specifically for individuals with electricity consumption below 300 units.<\/p>\n

Rahman mentioned that this scheme is expected to be included in the upcoming 2024-25 budget, with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz establishing a committee to supervise its implementation. He highlighted that more than 25 million households in Punjab fall within the bracket of consuming 300 units or less of electricity.<\/p>\n

While discussing the rise in electricity and gas prices, Rahman attributed it to federal government policies, criticizing the PTI’s handling of the matter as being incompetent.<\/p>\n
