HARIPUR: Chinese company, Power Construction Corporation of China, has stopped work on the Tarbela Dam 5th Extension Hydropower Project due to security issues raised after a terrorist attack killed five Chinese nationals near Besham on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

In a notification issued on March 26, PowerChina informed all the site workers and office staff to suspend work on the Tarbela Fifth Extension Project with a capacity of 1530 MW till further orders.<\/p>\n

“This is to inform all the site workers and office staff that the project work is being suspended till further order due to security reasons from dated 26-03-2024. Due to this all site workers and office staff will be laid off till further notification,” the notification said.<\/p>\n

His section in charge will inform the only staff who will come for duty, the company notified.<\/p>\n
