{"id":34643,"date":"2024-04-29T14:05:22","date_gmt":"2024-04-29T09:05:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=34643"},"modified":"2024-04-29T14:29:43","modified_gmt":"2024-04-29T09:29:43","slug":"audio-leaks-case-ihc-bins-fia-pta-pemras-pleas-slaps-rs-500000-fine-each","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/audio-leaks-case-ihc-bins-fia-pta-pemras-pleas-slaps-rs-500000-fine-each\/","title":{"rendered":"Audio leaks case: IHC bins FIA, PTA, PEMRA&#8217;s pleas, slaps Rs 500,000 fine each"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday rejected pleas from the FIA, PTA, and PEMRA in the Bushra Bibi audio leaks case regarding the bench hearing\u00a0of the case.<\/p>\n<p>While dismissing their requests, IHC\u00a0imposed hefty fines of Rs 500,000 on each of the aforementioned government institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The court also hinted that\u00a0contempt of court proceedings may also be initiated against the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).<\/p>\n<p>The court also summoned Joint Director General of Intelligence Bureau (IB) Tariq Mehmood and sought a response regarding the matter at the next hearing of the case.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/alleged-audio-leak-of-bushra-bibi-and-latif-khosa\/\">Alleged Audio Leak of Bushra Bibi and Latif Khosa<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>PEMRA, PTA, FIA, and IB had filed separate applications requesting that the petition of Imran Khan&#8217;s wife and Najamul Saqib should also be placed before the bench that had decided an identical matter in 2021 and the recusal of Justice Babar Sattar.<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Bushra\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Bibi\u2019s<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0lawyer\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Latif<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0Khosa\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">and<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0Najam Saqib, the son of former CJP Justice Saqib Nisar, filed a petition against a parliamentary committee formed to probe the audio leaks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The leaked audio allegedly involving Bushra Bibi and Najam Saqib surfaced in April 2023\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">and<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">it<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0was claimed<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0that Saqib Nisar could\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">be heard<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0demanding a<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0\u201c<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">reward<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">for a job done for a PTI ticket candidate.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday rejected pleas from the FIA, PTA, and PEMRA in the Bushra Bibi audio leaks case regarding the bench hearing\u00a0of the case.
