ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Wednesday during his two-day visit to Pakistan, state-run Radio Pakistan<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan’s commitment to working with Uzbekistan to speed up and complete all bilateral trade and connectivity projects.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Congratulating Shehbaz Sharif on his re-election, the Uzbek Foreign Minister also conveyed the invitation of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for Prime Minister Shehbaz to undertake an official visit to Uzbekistan at his earliest convenience.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and said that he is looking forward to meeting him.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the two sides discussed enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan in the fields of trade and economy, security and defense, connectivity, and people-to-people contacts. PM Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to provide access to Uzbekistan to Pakistani Ports.<\/p>\n

He also emphasized the importance of the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway Project and Pakistan’s commitment to its early completion. The importance of peace and development in Afghanistan for regional connectivity was also discussed in the meeting.<\/p>\n

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has expressed Pakistan’s desire to enhance relations with Uzbekistan in various fields including trade and economy.<\/p>\n

During a meeting with his Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov in Islamabad on Wednesday, the Deputy Prime Minister said there are strong friendly relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

The Uzbek Foreign Minister said his country attaches great importance to relations with Pakistan. He said they consider Pakistan as their second home.<\/p>\n
