LONDON: England’s legendary fast bowler James Anderson has <\/span>confirmed he will retire from\u00a0international cricket after England’s first Test against the West Indies this summer.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 41-year-old, Anderson, known as Jimmy, is England’s highest Test wicket-taker of all-time, having taken exactly 700, one of only three players to reach the mark, and the only seam bowler to do so.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Lancashire bowler, who has played an English record 187 Test matches, after making his debut in 2003, has taken his wickets at an average of under 27 each.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the greatest English bowlers of all time said the first Test against West Indies at Lord’s on July 10 will be his last.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a statement, posted on Instagram, he said, “It\u2019s been an incredible 20 years representing my country, playing the game I\u2019ve loved since I was a kid. I\u2019m going to miss walking out for England so much.”<\/span><\/p>\n
