{"id":3615,"date":"2021-10-31T17:03:59","date_gmt":"2021-10-31T17:03:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=3615"},"modified":"2021-10-31T17:03:59","modified_gmt":"2021-10-31T17:03:59","slug":"t20-world-cup-india-fail-new-zealand-bowling-masterclass","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/sports\/t20-world-cup-india-fail-new-zealand-bowling-masterclass\/","title":{"rendered":"T20 World Cup: India fail New Zealand bowling masterclass"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DUBAI: New Zealand look poised for an easy victory against India after the latter handed the former a 111-run target to win.<br \/>\nNew Zealand&#8217;s bowlers did well to restrict a formidable Indian batting line-up from forming solid partnerships or scoring big, with veteran cricketers KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Kohli and others failing to make their mark during India&#8217;s innings.<br \/>\nUnder pressure India handed New Zealand a target of 110 runs during the second match of both the teams in the T20 World Cup today (Sunday) at the Dubai International Stadium.<br \/>\nNew Zealand dismissed seven Indian batters during the first innings of the match.<br \/>\nSoon after Indian skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed on the fourth wicket, Indian batters Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur headed for the pavilion.<br \/>\nNew Zealand had removed both of India&#8217;s openers in the earlier part of the game, increasing pressure on the Men in Blue.<br \/>\nRohit Sharma joined the Indian openers, who failed to capitalise on a dropped chance to score big and was caught by Guptill off a Sodhi delivery.<br \/>\nNew Zealand skipper Kane Williamson had won the toss and elected to bowl first against New Zealand today (Sunday) at the Dubai International Stadium.<br \/>\nAll eyes will be on today&#8217;s fixture as losing, for either team, will mean their chances of reaching the last four will diminish to a great extent.<br \/>\nNew Zealand lost to Pakistan by five wickets in Sharjah while India lost by 10 wickets to the Men in Green in the opening match of Group 2.<br \/>\nNew Zealand opener Martin Guptill looked confident ahead of the match, saying that they have won one game and lost one and there are still four matches to go.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s gonna be tough against India but we are looking forward to it&#8221;, Guptill said in a conversation shared by the ICC Sunday.<br \/>\nThe batsman said that New Zealand&#8217;s last experience against Pakistan won\u2019t affect today\u2019s match.<br \/>\nAccording to Guptill, The Black Caps&#8217; victory against India will entirely depend on how well the team performs.<br \/>\nWhile comparing the strengths of the two teams, Guptill said both India and New Zealand have very strong pace-bowling line-ups.<br \/>\nIndia\u2019s batting coach Vikram Rathod spoke about how the team views the tournament.<br \/>\nHe said \u201cevery game is important\u201d when it comes to a tournament like the T20 World Cup.<br \/>\nEvery game and every team that you play, it is extremely important that you play well against them,\u201d said Rathod.<br \/>\nHe said that the India vs New Zealand game is an important one but that his side will treat it like any other game.<br \/>\nHe believes that the past records change nothing.<br \/>\n\u201cWe have been practicing well.
