LAHORE: The price of chicken in Punjab has dropped significantly in the market by Rs. 61 per kilogram, which will be applicable from May 13, 2024.<\/p>\n

Chicken meat is one of the most consumed meats in Pakistan. The demand for poultry remains high throughout the year, as it is widely used in all kinds of dishes.<\/p>\n

The price of chicken meat in the local market is now 416 per kg, significantly lower than Friday’s Rs. 477.<\/p>\n

The price of the chicken farm broiler (live) is now fixed at Rs. 265 per kg, compared to Rs. 305 last week. Similarly, the price of a dozen eggs has been marginally increased by Rs. 2 to Rs. 258.<\/p>\n

A full crate of 350 eggs is priced at Rs 7,620, up Rs 60 against Rs 7,560 last week.<\/p>\n

Lower poultry prices can ease financial pressure on consumers and offer more economical choices. However, doubts remain about whether retailers will go ahead with the new rates.<\/p>\n
