NORTHAMPTON: Pakistan women\u2019s cricket team captain Nida Dar has become the leading wicket-taking\u00a0<\/span>bowler<\/span> in Women\u2019s T20I cricket by claiming her 137th wicket during the second match against England.<\/p>\n

With this record, Dar has surpassed Australia’s Megan Schutt record of 136 wickets. The Pakistani skipper achieved the feat during her 141st innings, wherein she took two wickets against England in Northampton.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beside Dar another Pakistani player featured in the list of the 20 all-time top wicket-takers is former Pakistan captain Sana Mir, occupying the 19th position on the list with 89 wickets taken in 105 innings.<\/p>\n

There’s only one other Pakistani in the list of 20 leading wicket-takers in women’s T20I, Sana Mir, who sits at number 19 with 89 wickets in 105 innings.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the second T20I, England Women beat Pakistan Women by 65 runs to take the unassailable 2-0 lead.<\/p>\n

Pakistan restricted England to 144-6 as skipper Nida Dar led from front taking two wickets and also becoming the leading wicket-taker (137) in Women\u2019s T20Is. In return, Pakistan could only manage 79 all out in 15.5 overs as English spinners Sophie Ecclestone (3-11), Alice Capsey (2-4), and Sarah Glenn (2-10) shared seven wickets among each other.<\/p>\n

Pakistan found themselves in trouble early in pursuit of the 145-run target after Lauren Bell removed Gell Feroza (3, 7b) and Sadaf Shamas (0, 4b) cheaply. Muneeba Ali raced to 18 off 12 before falling to Ecclestone as Pakistan finished the powerplay with 41-3.<\/p>\n

Capsey was declared player of the match for her performance with the bat and bowl. <\/span>Leeds will host the dead rubber final on May 19.<\/span><\/p>\n
