{"id":3707,"date":"2021-11-05T11:08:44","date_gmt":"2021-11-05T11:08:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=3707"},"modified":"2021-11-05T11:08:44","modified_gmt":"2021-11-05T11:08:44","slug":"govt-jacks-up-price-of-petrol-day-after-pm-warned-fuel-would-get-dearer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/govt-jacks-up-price-of-petrol-day-after-pm-warned-fuel-would-get-dearer\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt jacks up price of petrol day after PM warned fuel would get dearer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The price of petrol in Pakistan went up by Rs8.03 per litre, a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan warned the nation that fuel prices would have to undergo an increase.<br \/>\nAccording to a finance ministry notification, with the Rs8.03 increase, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs145.82 per litre for the next fortnight.<br \/>\nSimilarly, the new price of high-speed diesel (HSD) \u2014 the country\u2019s most widely consumed fuel \u2014 has reached Rs142.62 per litre after an increase of Rs8.14 per litre.<br \/>\nAccording to the notification, the new prices will be effective from November 5.<br \/>\nProduct Existing price w.e.f 16-10-2021 New price w.e.f 5-11-2021 Increase<br \/>\nPetrol Rs137.79 Rs145.82 Rs8.03<br \/>\nDiesel Rs134.48 Rs142.62 Rs8.14<br \/>\nKerosene oil Rs110.26 Rs116.53 Rs6.27<br \/>\nLight diesel oil Rs108.35 Rs114.07 Rs5.72<br \/>\n\u201cOn November 1, 2021, the Prime Minister had not agreed with the proposals worked out by OGRA and Finance Division and directed to maintain the prices as notified on October 16, 2021,\u201d read the statement issued by the government.<br \/>\nIt, however, added that maintaining the October 16, 2021 petroleum prices had some underlying concerns, for example cash flow issues due to the short recovery of the cost.<br \/>\n\u201cIt is important to note that in the previous petroleum prices, already a significant relief was provided to the consumers,\u201d the ministry of finance said.<br \/>\n\u201cThe government is cognizant of its responsibility to provide maximum relief to the consumers.
