RAWALPINDI: Security forces have successfully neutralized 29 terrorists in the past month during several operations along the Pakistan-Afghansiotan border and in the <\/span>Zhob<\/span>\u00a0District of\u00a0<\/span>Balochistan,<\/span> the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the military’s media wing, recently, Pakistan has witnessed a surge in terrorist incidents orchestrated from Afghan soil,\u00a0<\/span>wherein,<\/span> terrorists from Afghanistan attempt to infiltrate through the\u00a0<\/span>Pakistan-Afghanistan<\/span> Border and target Security Forces as well as\u00a0<\/span>innocent<\/span>\u00a0civilians<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

In<\/span> this context, in addition to other areas along the\u00a0<\/span>Pakistan-Afghanistan<\/span> border, Security Forces have been<\/span> conducting operations in the\u00a0<\/span>general<\/span> area of\u00a0<\/span>Sambaza<\/span> in the\u00a0<\/span>Zhob<\/span>\u00a0District of\u00a0<\/span>Balochistan,<\/span> since 21 April 2024, the statement reads.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, the statement said, In<\/span>\u00a0the same series of operations, during an\u00a0<\/span>intelligence-based<\/span>\u00a0operation on 14 May 2024, Maj Babar Khan\u00a0<\/span>also<\/span>\u00a0embraced\u00a0<\/span>Shahadat,<\/span>\u00a0while fighting gallantly<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pakistan\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0Security Forces are determined and remain committed to\u00a0<\/span>securing<\/span>\u00a0the borders and\u00a0<\/span>ensuring<\/span> the\u00a0<\/span>safety<\/span> of its citizens against the scourge of terrorism, it said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, military’s media wing said Pakistan<\/span> has consistently been asking the\u00a0<\/span>Interim<\/span>\u00a0Afghan Government to\u00a0<\/span>ensure<\/span>\u00a0effective border management on their side of<\/span> the\u00a0<\/span>border<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Interim<\/span>\u00a0Afghan Government\u00a0<\/span>is expected<\/span>\u00a0to fulfill its obligations and deny the use of Afghan Soil by terrorists for\u00a0<\/span>perpetuating<\/span> acts of terrorism against Pakistan, the statement concluded.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier in May,<\/span> Director General ISPR Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that there is \u201cirrefutable evidence\u201d of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) using Afghanistan against the country.<\/span><\/p>\n
