Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has hinted at recognizing Palestine as a state, days after three European nations Norway, Ireland, and Spain announc\u00ad\u00aded their intention to recognize a Palestinian state.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are prepared to recognize the state of Palestine at the right time not necessarily as a last step along the path,\u201d he said while on the floor of the House on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were pleased to be able to support the NDP motion several months ago we will continue to work forward on promoting peace and working towards stability in the Middle East.\u201d<\/p>\n

He was reacting to Heather McPherson, a New Democratic Party (NDP) MP and foreign affairs critic, who had pushed him to “take a stand” against the Gaza conflict in the House of Commons.<\/p>\n

Before delivering the speech, he emphasized creating a \u201ccredible path\u201d for enduring peace.<\/p>\n

“We are against the Netanyahu administration’s attempts to disapprove of a two-state solution. Meanwhile, Hamas continues to hold territory in Gaza and has neither given up its weapons nor freed its hostages, according to Trudeau.<\/p>\n
