Both the pilots were safe in the incident.<\/p>\n<p>As per the reports, the Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter jet crashed in the Nashik area where it caught fire.<\/p>\n<p>The fighter jet crashed during a test flight, India&#8217;s state-run defense company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) wrote on X.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A technical fault was reported by the pilots. The exact cause will be known only after a detailed investigation,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n<p>Indian Air Force officials told international media that the fighter jet was deployed to HAL for overhaul and testing purposes.<\/p>\n<p>In December last year, an <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/indian-navy-rescues-23-pakistani-fishermen-from-somali-pirates-in-arabian-sea\/\">Indian Air Force<\/a> training aircraft, a Pilatus PC 7 Mk II, crashed in Telangana, killing two officers.<\/p>\n<p>The jet took a routine training flight from AFA, Hyderabad but crashed and both pilots on board were fatally injured.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW DELHI: An Indian Air Force fighter jet crashed in the western state of Maharashtra on Tuesday.
