{"id":39077,"date":"2024-06-09T21:09:35","date_gmt":"2024-06-09T16:09:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=39077"},"modified":"2024-06-09T21:11:45","modified_gmt":"2024-06-09T16:11:45","slug":"pm-shehbaz-may-dissolve-national-assembly-within-three-months-ppp-leader-claims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pm-shehbaz-may-dissolve-national-assembly-within-three-months-ppp-leader-claims\/","title":{"rendered":"PM Shehbaz may dissolve National Assembly within three months, PPP leader claims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: Leader of Pakistan People\u2019s Party (PPP) Manzoor Wassan has predicted a crucial three-month period for Pakistan politics, hinting at the possibility of Prime Minister (PM) <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pakistan-will-observe-day-of-mourning-declares-shehbaz-sharif-on-raisis-death\/\">Shehbaz Sharif<\/a> dissolving the National Assembly, here on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to journalists here, PPP leader known for his bold predictions about the country\u2019s politics, said that the next three months are crucial for national politics. \u201cShehbaz Sharif may dissolve the National Assembly within the next three months.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Manzoor Wassan believes that the provincial assemblies will remain intact.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the Manzoor said the current setup does not favour PML-N Nawaz Sharif\u2019s return as Prime Minister. \u201cAfter the dissolution of the National Assembly, we will see what kind of setup emerges,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He also commented on the political climate for PTI founder Imran Khan and other politicians. \u201cI do not foresee favourable conditions for the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/ptis-sanam-javed-rearrested-after-release-on-bail\/\">PTI<\/a> founder and other politicians. Even if they receive relief, it is often short-lived,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The statement referred to\u00a0Islamabad High Court\u2019s (IHC) decision, acquitting PTI founder Imran Khan and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the cipher case.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb announced the short verdict after accepting the appeals of the former premier and diplomat against their convictions in the case.<\/p>\n<p>The duo were not expected to be released from prison due to Imran\u2019s sentence in the Iddat case while Qureshi was arrested in recent May 9 cases.<\/p>\n<p>A special court, established under the Official Secrets Act, had handed both Imran and Qureshi 10-year jail sentences each in the case in January after Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain appo\u00adinted a state counsel for them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: Leader of Pakistan People\u2019s Party (PPP) Manzoor Wassan has predicted a crucial three-month period for Pakistan politics, hinting at the possibility of Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif dissolving the National Assembly, here on Sunday.
