{"id":39157,"date":"2024-06-10T14:37:59","date_gmt":"2024-06-10T09:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=39157"},"modified":"2024-06-10T14:38:40","modified_gmt":"2024-06-10T09:38:40","slug":"govt-bans-three-phase-meters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/govt-bans-three-phase-meters\/","title":{"rendered":"Govt bans Three-Phase meters?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAHORE: Lahore Electric Supply Company (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/pay-iesco-bill-online-from-april-2024-heres-how\/\">LESCO<\/a>) has decided to ban <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/nepra-issues-new-regulations-change-in-instalment-plans-for-electricity-bills-details-inside\/\">three-phase meters<\/a> for all consumers on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>According to the reports, <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">LESCO is changing its <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/federal-govt-set-to-revise-solar-net-metering-policy-introducing-two-bill-system\/\">metering system<\/a> aimed<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> at modernizing its infrastructure and improving billing accuracy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In order t<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">o replace the three-phase meters<\/span>, <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">LESCO has initiated work on installing <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/nepra-increases-electricity-prices-by-rs3-35-per-unit\/\">Automatic Meter Reading<\/a> (AMR) meters, which <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">are designed<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to <\/span>reduce overbilling and electricity theft.<\/p>\n<div class=\"QpPSMb\">\n<div class=\"DoxwDb\">\n<p class=\"PZPZlf ssJ7i xgAzOe\" role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\" data-attrid=\"title\">Lahore Electric Supply Company will charge an additional amount of Rs20,000 to Rs25,000 to the consumer for installing AMR meters. The increase will be imposed due to the difference in meter price.<\/p>\n<p role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\" data-attrid=\"title\">The Electric Supply Company will charge the purchase of AMR meters at Rs 42,000 to its consumers. The AMR meters are expected to bring several benefits for consumers and LESCO including chances of overbilling, reduction in electricity theft, online billing, and modern technology.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This transition follows LESCO\u2019s earlier initiative of replacing bidirectional meters for solar systems with AMR meters.
