{"id":39555,"date":"2024-06-13T13:04:16","date_gmt":"2024-06-13T08:04:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=39555"},"modified":"2024-06-13T13:04:16","modified_gmt":"2024-06-13T08:04:16","slug":"budget-2024-25-expected-petrol-prices-in-pakistan-from-june-16-after-petroleum-levy-increased","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/budget-2024-25\/budget-2024-25-expected-petrol-prices-in-pakistan-from-june-16-after-petroleum-levy-increased\/","title":{"rendered":"Budget 2024-25: Expected petrol prices in Pakistan from June 16 after petroleum levy increased"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">ISLAMABAD: As the federal government presented an <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/federal-budget-2024-25-key-takeaways-including-allocations-targets\/\">ambitious Budget 2024-25<\/a> with total outlay of <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/live-federal-govt-presents-budget-2024-25-amid-ruckus-in-national-assembly\/\">Rs18.9 trillion<\/a>, the target has been set to collect Rs1.28 trillion through the petroleum levy in the upcoming fiscal year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/budget-2024-25-heres-how-much-tax-has-been-increased-on-your-salary\/\">revenue collection target<\/a> of the outgoing fiscal year through petroleum levy was Rs869 billion, which saw an increase of 47.4pc from the outgoing year. <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> The government recommended an increase in the levy from Rs60 to Rs80 per <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">litre<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">government collected Rs960 billion from the PL, surpassing the original target. Considering that, the budget for the upcoming FY targets an additional collection of Rs321bn.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">If the proposal is approved, the petroleum prices are expected to move up from July 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Likewise<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, Rs28bn is expected to be collected from the levy on crude oil<\/span>. The newly introduced levy on gas is projected to generate Rs400 million. The<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> proposal also seeks a 50 percent surge in the levy on high-octane, light diesel, and ethanol.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Although the government has proposed to increase levies on petroleum products, citizens can still expect relief in the upcoming fortnight revision of petrol prices from June 16.<\/p>\n<p>Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan are likely to go down after international oil rates saw a downtrend amid the crisis in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/massive-decrease-expected-petrol-prices-in-pakistan-from-june-16\/\">Expected petrol prices from June 16 in Pakistan<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led government has reduced petrol prices by Rs24 per litre and diesel by Rs20 per litre since April 16.<\/p>\n<p>The new revision which will be announced on June 15 can<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> see a reduction in petrol price by Rs12 to Rs256.36 per <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">litre<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, starting from June 16 in Pakistan.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/petrol-diesel-prices-drop-massively-in-pakistan-from-june-1-check-latest-rates-here\/\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Current Petrol Prices in Pakistan<\/span><\/a><\/h2>\n<p>The federal government decreased petrol prices by Rs 4.74 and <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">diesel <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">prices<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> by RS 3.68 for June 1 till June 15. \u00a0Currently, the petrol price stands at Rs268.36 per litre while the diesel price is at Rs273.10 till June 15.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: As the federal government presented an ambitious Budget 2024-25 with total outlay of Rs18.9 trillion, the target has been set to collect Rs1.28 trillion through the petroleum levy in the upcoming fiscal year.
